What drew you to the arts?

When I was a child, my mom took me to concerts, dance performances, and later to plays and musical theatre. In various venues experiencing different genres, I gradually developed an interest in the performing arts. As I began my undergraduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University, I joined a student theatre club and minored in Drama, which prompted me to expand my engagement beyond being an audience member and consider a career in the arts.

What drew you to  Arts Administration?

I believe that the arts can bridge people from different backgrounds through shared human stories, reminding us that behind broader phenomena are individuals just like ourselves. I am drawn to arts administration as I want to build the foundations that enable organizations to continue creating work that inspires and challenges audiences, while ensuring a broader and more diverse community can access the arts.

What is your focus within Arts Administration?

I am particularly interested in how arts organizations can function as spaces for communities to connect, showcase diverse identities, and engage in social dialogue. I also aspire to improve data collection and transparency within arts organizations.

How do you incorporate EDIA into your work life?

I aim to support a more inclusive performing arts field, with greater representation of and accessibility for marginalized communities, not only in the stories being told, but also in who participates in creating, managing, and sustaining them, as well as who sits in the audience. I approach my daily work and communication with openness and respect.

What do you do in your spare time?

I love traveling and photography and enjoy wandering through the streets of different places with my camera, immersing myself in their history and culture. I also like cooking and trying out new recipes. I recently started learning crochet and am looking forward to finishing my first hat.
